About Me

Picture
Hi,

Thanks for visiting.  Let me introduce myself.  I’m a working mum living in mid-Sussex and commuting to London every day.  I am everywhere I shouldn’t be all through the week; at work when I should be with my child and with my child when I should be working.  Oh, and I am nearly 7 months pregnant so I couldn’t think of a better time to start a blog about the people, things and places that make my very limited spare time special.

The number one person in my life is BooBoo, my 18 month old daughter who has transformed me from a wine guzzling, social smoking, bad decision making girl (all of which was bloody brilliant at the time) to a girl passionate about all things baby and child friendly and in turn inspired me to start this rant.

Ranting is what I do best, apparently I can have an argument with a mirror and I talk.  I talk all the time and to anyone that will listen. I love talking to strangers and fortunately ‘stranger danger’ hasn’t personally affected me yet.  So I will talk to you about everything I know about baby and child stuff, all the opinions I have will be my own with maybe a few words from my mummy mates and the ear bashed father of my 1 (hopefully soon to be 2) children.

Before reading any reviews or posts please let me describe where I’m coming from so you have some understanding of the personal challenges I face.  I am a geek. I have studied all my life and ended up in the world of finance law.  I have used all of my capacities to achieve this at the direct cost of: common sense, learning to ride a bike, spacial awareness, co-ordination and tact.  My best friend says that I am the most stupid educated person she has ever encountered.  I called an ambulance when my daughter had her first tantrum and I broke my ankle and dislocated my knee when attempting to kick a ball in a maxi dress. Given this background, if I can use or do something practical it can only be user friendly and safe.

Luckily I have managed to surround myself with people who help me with my practical problems, the most special one being BooBoo’s dad who is quite frankly the reason why I’m not living in squalor eating supernoodles.  He is a proper person and I know that he often watches me thinking ‘any minute now she will cock this up’ but only alerts me to this 50% of the time.  In fact, I think many strangers have watched me collapse BooBoo’s pram and thought ‘that shouldn’t look so dangerous?!’.  BooBoo and I obviously survived my first maternity leave and as I embark on my second with 2 babies under 2 I will note, review and commentate on my life as a keepsake for my children and as a way of enjoying all that motherhood brings.
